ITC Registration is now open

SAICA Admin Nov 6, 2017

The SAICA Initial Test of Competence (ITC) will be taking place on 24 and 25 January 2018. Online registration opens on 1 November 2017 and closes on 5 January 2018, however students can only register once their CTA results have been confirmed and they have obtained the CTA or equivalent.

Late registration, says Mandi Olivier, Senior Executive: Professional Development at SAICA, is possible but candidates must contact SAICA on itc@saica.co.za in this regard. The registration fees are R5 323.80, VAT inclusive and are based on the date the online registration is completed and not the date your  CTA results are received.

How to register for the ITC

The online registration process differs, depending on whether you have an existing SAICA profile or not. If you are registering a new SAICA profile, go to www.saica.co.za, select ‘register’ on the home page and complete the registration form. Select ‘my profile’ and once the registration form has been completed, click on ‘register’.

If you already have an existing SAICA profile, you will alreadyhave an eight digit SAICA user number. If this is the case, register for the ITC by clicking  on ‘learner and student’ and then selecting examinations and registering for an exam, after which you will complete the online exam registration.

Once you have completed the online registration process, look out for an automated email confirmation from SAICA. Please let SAICA know if you do not receive this within 24 hours. Similarly, if you have forgotten your SAICA user number or aren’t sure if you have one, call SAICA’s contact centre on 06810 72722 or send an email itc@saica.co.za – do not create another profile. If you have a training contract or you have previously written the ITC exam or attended a SAICA seminar or event you should have a SAICA user number.

Once you have registered for the ITC exam, it is important to make your payment immediately, unless you are writing a supplementary exam, in which case you must register before 5 January 2018. However, make your payment only once your supplementary results have been confirmed as successful by your university.

It is crucial to ensure that your contact details (mobile number and email address) are correct, as all future contact will take place via these channels.
