CA Nights: FAQs

Dear trainees,

So you’ve been invited to CA Nights – but you have some questions like: What is it? Why should you attend? What should you wear?
Read on to discover everything you need to know.

What is CA Nights?

SAICA’s CA Nights is an exclusive VIP trainee-only event that exists to keep trainees like you on the journey to greatness as well as to challenge them to develop the “responsible leadership” traits expected from qualified CAs(SA).

Using current thought leaders and experienced professionals to debate practical and implementable solutions for troublesome and complex socio-economic issues, CA Nights supports the development of a community of young leaders who can lead the country in achieving its development goals – passing on SAICA’s leadership baton to you – the next generation of qualified CAs(SA).

Why should you attend?

Based on review of last year’s events in Cape Town and Johannesburg, these forum-style discussions are proven to help trainees feel less isolated and better prepared for what being a member of the chartered accountancy profession entails.

Who are the speakers?

The speaker list for each event is a closely guarded secret. But rest assured, you will be delighted by the people who form part of the CA Night’s panels.
Take a look at the videos from the 2017 Cape Town and Johannesburg events for a taste of what to expect.

Why can only a few trainees go?

These exclusive events are kept to a maximum of 100-120 trainees to ensure that you are able to mingle and meet with your peers to create discussion and solutioning platforms as well as valuable connections that will assist you in your career in future.

What do I need to prepare/bring with me?

Just yourself and your passion for the profession.

What is the dress code?

Business casual

How much does it cost?

The event is free to all SAICA trainees.
